Fri Feb 21 16:36:00 UTC 2025: ## Uttar Pradesh Wedding Goes Viral: Bride’s “Bidaai” Procession Features a Fleet of Bulldozers

**Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh:** A wedding in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has taken social media by storm, not for its extravagance, but for its unusual choice of wedding transport. Instead of the traditional cars or even helicopters increasingly used for bridal processions, Karishma Yadav’s “bidaai” (farewell ceremony) featured a convoy of nearly a dozen bulldozers.

The unconventional procession, which took place on Thursday, initially caused confusion and even alarm among onlookers. The sight of so many bulldozers evoked the image of the state government’s controversial demolition drives. However, the apprehension quickly gave way to amusement and awe as it became clear the machines were part of a unique wedding celebration.

The groom’s uncle, Ramkumar, explained that the bulldozers belonged to the family and that they sought to create a memorable and distinctive “bidaai.” He stated, “We thought of doing a different kind of ‘bidaai’ with them, which will look good and different.” The groom, Rahul Yadav, and the bride, Karishma, expressed their happiness with the unconventional send-off, noting the bulldozer’s popularity in Uttar Pradesh.

Videos of the unusual procession quickly went viral, earning the wedding the moniker “Bulldozer Wedding.” This event follows another recent high-profile wedding in Bihar where a helicopter was used to transport the newlyweds. The increasing use of unconventional transport in Indian wedding ceremonies highlights the evolving ways families are seeking to make their celebrations memorable.
