HYDERABAD, INDIA – ETV Win, a popular OTT platform, has released its latest web series, “Sammelanam,” a six-episode series focusing on friendship, love, and breakups. The series stars Priya Vadlamani (“Husharu” fame), Ganadithy, Bindu, Shivanth, and Vignesh Abhishek, and is directed by Tarun Mahadhev.

The story revolves around Ram (Ganadithy), a writer whose book detailing personal experiences gains popularity after being featured in a newspaper. This leads to a reunion with his former friends Arjun (Vignesh Abhishek), Rahul (Shivanth), and Shreya (Bindu), as well as his ex-girlfriend Megha (Priya Vadlamani). The series explores the complexities of their relationships, a love triangle, and the reasons behind their past estrangement.

While the series tackles common themes of friendship and love, director Tarun Mahadhev attempts a unique approach. The narrative unfolds from Ram’s perspective, starting with a clear introduction of his role as a writer. However, the pacing is criticized for the time taken to introduce supporting characters. Flashbacks, featuring Shreya recounting memories to a housekeeper, provide insight into the group’s dynamics, adding comedic elements. The series showcases the transition of Ram, raised in a rural area, to city life, and his evolving relationships.

The love triangle between Arjun, Megha, and Ram, along with Megha’s backstory, are noted as less engaging aspects of the plot. Though the director attempts to convey a message through these scenes, they are considered less impactful. The series is concluded with a satisfying twist in the climax.

Priya Vadlamani’s performance is lauded for her beauty and acting abilities, while Ganadithy’s portrayal of Ram is praised for the expression of emotions. The supporting cast also delivers commendable performances. The background music is effective, enhancing the scenes. Thought-provoking dialogues, such as “The constitution gave us the right to speak, but society took it away,” are included. The visuals are also appealing. Each episode is approximately 30 minutes long.
