**New Delhi, [Date of Publication]** – The Indian Army has announced the opening of 76 Short Service Commission (SSC) positions for eligible National Cadet Corps (NCC) graduates. The vacancies are divided into 70 for men and 6 for women, with a dedicated quota for wards of battle casualties.
The recruitment drive targets unmarried male and female NCC cadets with engineering degrees. Applicants must have served a minimum of two or three years in the Senior Division/Wing of the NCC and hold a minimum 50% aggregate in their engineering degree. Those in their final year can apply provided they meet the minimum aggregate mark requirement in completed years and achieve the overall minimum upon graduation.
The age limit for applicants is 19 to 25 years as of July 1st, 2025. Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, at government expense. Marriage is prohibited during training. Failure to complete training, except for medical reasons or circumstances beyond the candidate’s control, will result in a fee of Rs 16,260 per week.
