**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Feb 21, 2025** – B. Ashok, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) and Agriculture Production Commissioner of Kerala, has filed a contempt of court petition against Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan. The petition, filed with the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), alleges that Ms. Muraleedharan willfully disobeyed a tribunal order by transferring Mr. Ashok before his term ended and without proper procedure.
Mr. Ashok recently obtained a stay from the CAT on his transfer to head the yet-to-be-formed Local Self-government Reforms Commission. He claims the Chief Secretary’s actions undermine the tribunal’s authority and obstruct justice by issuing the transfer order before the Civil Service Board could recommend a posting. The petition contends that Ms. Muraleedharan’s actions constitute contempt of court.
