Sat Feb 22 12:07:42 UTC 2025: ## AAP Demands Explanation for Delayed Women’s Aid Scheme in Delhi

**New Delhi** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Atishi is demanding answers from Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta regarding the BJP’s unfulfilled promise of a ₹2,500 monthly financial aid to women. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Atishi requested a meeting on February 23rd with AAP MLAs to discuss the issue. The AAP alleges that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised the scheme’s implementation in the BJP’s first cabinet meeting following their election victory, a promise which Atishi claims was broken when the scheme wasn’t approved on February 20th.

Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader, accused the BJP of betraying the women of Delhi by failing to deliver on this key election promise. This accusation came just hours after the BJP’s first cabinet meeting.

However, Chief Minister Gupta swiftly countered the allegations, criticizing the AAP and Congress for their past governance in Delhi and highlighting the BJP government’s immediate approval of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, claiming it provided a benefit of ₹10 lakh to Delhi residents. Gupta further accused the AAP of deflecting attention from potential issues that might be revealed by upcoming CAG reports. She challenged the AAP to focus on its own internal matters, suggesting dissent within the party.
