**Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur:** A young woman preparing for the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) was found dead in her rented room in Gangapur City late Thursday night. Manisha Meena, 22, a resident of Madhorajpura village in Karauli district, had completed a two-year BSTC course and was reportedly studying for the REET exam for the past year.
According to Udei Mod police, Manisha was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. The landlord, Mukesh Kumar Sharma, alerted police after receiving an anonymous call around 12:30 AM. Police arrived at the scene and transported Manisha to Gangapur City Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A post-mortem was conducted Friday morning.
Police have registered a case of suicide, but the motive remains unclear. While the landlord reported having spoken to Manisha earlier in the evening, he stated no indication of distress was evident. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Manisha’s parents, who are farmers, have been informed and her body has been released to them.
