**Thiruvananthapuram, February 21, 2025** – The Kerala government announced the release of ₹812 crore for social security pensions, benefiting over 60 lakh recipients. Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal confirmed the disbursement of the funds, stating that the ₹1,600 pension per beneficiary will begin next week.

Approximately 26.62 lakh beneficiaries will receive their pensions directly into their bank accounts. The remaining pensions will be distributed through cooperative banks at the beneficiaries’ homes. The pensions are designed to support disadvantaged segments of the population.
