**Chennai, February 21, 2025** – The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has urged the Lok Sabha’s Select Committee to amend the Income-Tax Bill, 2025, to include “Cost Accountant” within the definition of “Accountant” under Section 515(3)(b). The ICAI argues that this inclusion would foster greater representation of cost accountants in business, promote inclusivity, and leverage their specialized skills in tax and compliance within the changing tax landscape. The memorandum was submitted on February 20th.
