**Karachi, Pakistan –** Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a muscular strain suffered during the match against New Zealand. The injury occurred while fielding in the opening over on February 19th, when Zaman sprinted to stop a shot and felt discomfort in his lower back. Although he briefly left the field, he returned later in the innings and scored 24 runs before ultimately being withdrawn from the tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the severity of the injury, stating Zaman will not participate in any further matches and will not travel with the team to Dubai.
