**CHIKKAMAGALURU, KARNATAKA –** A man and a woman were found dead in a coffee estate near Dasarahalli, on the outskirts of Chikkamagaluru, on Wednesday night. Police have identified the victims as Poornima, 30, of Magadi, Ramanagara district, and Madhu, 29, of Bhadravathi, Shivamogga district.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Madhu, a driver who had been residing in Magadi, killed Poornima before taking his own life. The couple, who were reportedly in a relationship, were on a trip to Chikkamagaluru when the incident occurred. Madhu stopped his car near Dasarahalli and committed the double homicide-suicide.
Local residents alerted the Chikkamagaluru Rural Police, who launched an investigation based on a statement from a member of the Dasarahalli Gram Panchayat.
