**Dubai, UAE –** Indian captain Rohit Sharma celebrated a remarkable milestone on Thursday, smashing his way to 11,000 ODI runs during a Group A Champions Trophy match against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium. This achievement places him in an elite group of only seven batsmen worldwide to have surpassed this mark.

Sharma’s brisk innings of 41 runs off 36 balls, including a flurry of boundaries, provided India with a strong start in their successful chase of 229 runs. Despite being dismissed for 41 in the match’s powerplay, Sharma’s contribution proved crucial to India’s victory. He is currently ninth on the list of all-time ODI run-scorers, trailing closely behind Ganguly. His impressive ODI career also includes 32 centuries and 52 half-centuries, and he holds the second position in the list of most sixes hit in ODI cricket. India now boasts six players who have crossed the 10,000-run mark in ODIs. Sharma’s achievement further solidifies his status as one of the most successful opening batsmen in ODI cricket history.
