**Dubai, UAE:** Indian captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma has reached a significant milestone in One Day International (ODI) cricket. During India’s match against Bangladesh in Dubai, Sharma became the second-fastest batsman to score 11,000 ODI runs, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
Sharma achieved the feat in 261 innings, quicker than Tendulkar’s 276 innings. Only Virat Kohli, who reached the 11,000-run mark in 222 innings, has achieved this milestone faster. Sharma is now the fourth Indian batsman to cross the 11,000-run mark in ODIs, following Tendulkar, Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly.
This achievement adds another feather to the cap of the “Hitman,” solidifying his place among the greats of Indian cricket. The milestone was reached during the ongoing 2025 ICC Champions Trophy match against Bangladesh.
