**Jaipur, Rajasthan:** The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2024 admit cards have been released, the Rajasthan Secondary Education Board announced. Candidates can download their admit cards from reet2024.co.in. The exam will be conducted in three shifts over February 27th and 28th.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sudhanshu Pant was held to discuss stringent security measures for the exam. This year, for the first time, biometric and facial recognition will be used to verify candidates, aiming to curb impersonation. Strict surveillance will be implemented at sensitive exam centers, with a standard operating procedure (SOP) similar to election protocols. Around 90,000 candidates will not receive their preferred home district, though the board endeavored to assign candidates to nearby districts. Over 1.5 lakh candidates are from outside Rajasthan. Admit cards will feature a QR code for easy verification, and facial recognition will compare the photo on the application with the candidate’s live appearance at the exam center. Candidates must appear with the same hairstyle and facial features as shown in their application photos.
The passing marks are 60% for general category males, with concessions for various reserved categories. Scheduled Tribe candidates from Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) areas and Sahariya tribe candidates need only 36%, while SC, OBC, EBC candidates require 55%. Widows, divorcees, and ex-servicemen need 50%, and differently-abled candidates need 40%.
REET, conducted for selecting teachers for classes 1-8, awards a lifelong validity certificate (previously valid for 3 years). The REET certificate is mandatory for teaching in government schools in Rajasthan. Candidates can access their admit cards on the RBSE website, rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
