Thu Feb 20 14:18:44 UTC 2025: ## Apple Unveils iPhone 16e: A Budget-Friendly Flagship

**New Delhi, India** – After months of speculation, Apple has officially launched the iPhone 16e, its new budget-friendly flagship phone, priced at Rs 59,900. While initially rumored to be the iPhone SE 4, the device completes the iPhone 16 family, offering a surprising array of high-end features at a more accessible price point.

The iPhone 16e marks a significant departure from its predecessor, the iPhone SE 3. Gone is the dated home button design; in its place is a modern aesthetic reminiscent of the iPhone 14, featuring a 6.1-inch display with a notch and a flat aluminum frame. The device boasts improved dust and water resistance (IP68) and Face ID, replacing the older Touch ID fingerprint sensor. While color options are limited to black and white, the overall design elevates the phone’s premium feel.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16e packs a powerful A18 chip, matching the iPhone 16’s performance capabilities, along with 8GB of RAM and a 4-core GPU. Battery life has seen a dramatic improvement, with Apple claiming up to 26 hours of video playback, a substantial increase over the iPhone SE 3’s 15 hours. This is largely attributed to the A18 chip and Apple’s new in-house 5G modem, the C1.

The device fully supports Apple’s new AI-driven features, including Visual Intelligence, accessible via the customizable Action button (replacing the mute switch). This functionality, previously exclusive to higher-end models, allows users to quickly identify objects through the camera.

Camera upgrades are substantial. The iPhone 16e features a 48-megapixel main sensor, capable of acting as a 2x telephoto lens, delivering significantly improved image quality compared to the iPhone SE 3’s 12-megapixel camera. While lacking an ultrawide lens and features like spatial video and Photographic Styles, the enhanced main camera offers sharper photos and better low-light performance.

Although priced higher than previous SE models, the iPhone 16e’s features position it as a compelling alternative to the iPhone 15 and even the iPhone 16, potentially impacting sales of its more expensive siblings. The phone replaces the iPhone SE 3 as Apple’s most affordable offering, presenting a significant upgrade in design, performance, and camera capabilities.
