**NEW DELHI** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 science exam, conducted today, received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and teachers across the country. The paper was widely described as “well-balanced,” “easy to comprehend,” and of “moderate difficulty.”
Academic coordinators from schools in Bengaluru, Ghaziabad, and Noida praised the paper’s structure, noting a good mix of direct questions, competency-based questions, and numerical problems. The inclusion of diagrams and a sufficient time allocation allowed students to thoughtfully answer the questions. While some competency-based questions required deeper understanding, the numerical problems were deemed straightforward applications of learned concepts. One student commented that the reduction in lengthy numerical problems allowed for more focus on critical thinking and real-life application.
The exam’s five-section format, progressing in complexity from objective to detailed-answer questions, also received positive appraisal. The inclusion of case-based questions in Section E was particularly highlighted as a welcome change that tested analytical skills beyond rote memorization.
While some students found the chemistry portion slightly more challenging, the overall consensus was that the paper aligned well with the NCERT syllabus and was fairly attemptable. One student did point out a minor issue with an incomplete value in a physics MCQ.
Several teachers emphasized the paper’s success in assessing conceptual understanding and application of scientific principles, minimizing reliance on complex calculations. The use of clear and concise language, along with diagram-based questions, further enhanced accessibility and understanding.
The CBSE’s Class 10 science exam appears to have successfully met its objectives, providing a fair and comprehensive assessment of student knowledge and skills.
