Thu Feb 20 02:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Govt Offers 25% Rebate on Plot Regularization Fees
**Hyderabad, [Date of Publication]** – The Telangana government announced a 25% rebate on fees for the long-delayed Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS), offering relief to thousands of plot owners. The scheme, stalled since October 2020, will now allow individuals to regularize plots in unauthorized layouts with a reduced fee until March 31st.
The decision, announced following a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, aims to expedite the process and address concerns of lower and middle-income families who have been waiting for years. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu also attended the meeting.
The rebate applies to those with registered sale deeds and covers even unregistered plots in layouts where at least 10% of plots are already registered. The government urged individuals to utilize this limited-time offer, emphasizing the benefits for those who purchased plots individually but failed to register them.
While offering concessions, the government stressed the importance of strict adherence to regulations, particularly concerning lands on the prohibited list. Authorities have been instructed to maintain transparency and efficiency throughout the regularization process. To simplify payments, the government recommended direct payments at sub-registrar offices.
The initiative is expected to resolve pending LRS applications for lakhs of plot owners across the state, finally bringing closure to a prolonged issue impacting a significant segment of the population.
