**PUNE, INDIA –** The death toll from a suspected Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) outbreak in Pune, India has risen to 11, officials announced Wednesday. Two more patients, a 27-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, succumbed to the illness while undergoing treatment.

The woman, a resident of Nandedgaon (the epicenter of the outbreak), initially experienced loose motions on January 15th but recovered without medical intervention. However, she developed lower limb weakness on January 22nd and was admitted to a hospital. Despite treatment and transfer to another hospital where she was placed on life support, she died on February 18th. The man, from Daund, died on Monday at Sassoon General Hospital due to acute respiratory failure after being admitted on January 10th with suspected GBS.

While the death toll has climbed, the total number of confirmed GBS cases remains at 211, with no new cases reported on Wednesday. Health officials continue to monitor the situation.
