**DHARWAD, INDIA (February 19, 2025)** – Karnatak University will host a two-day international conference on environmental themes in contemporary Indian Hindi literature, beginning Friday. The conference, taking place at the Manasollasa auditorium on campus, will feature renowned Hindi scholars discussing the representation of environmental concerns in various literary forms.

Suresh Chandra Shukla, writer and editor of *Sharad Alok* magazine (Oslo), will inaugurate the symposium. Arjun Chavan, a noted writer and critic from Kolhapur, will deliver the keynote address. The conference will include six literary sessions exploring environmental themes in poetry, short stories, novels, and other genres.

A valedictory session on Saturday will honor retired Hindi teachers from the university’s affiliated colleges. Several dignitaries will attend, including the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Karnatak University, Jayashri S., and former Vice-Chancellor of Rani Channamma University, Vijay Nagannavar.
