**Munnar, Kerala, February 19, 2025** – Three college students from Tamil Nadu were killed and 24 others injured when their tourist bus overturned near Echo Point in Munnar on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. as the bus, carrying 37 students and three teachers from Scott Christian College in Nagercoil, was traveling from Mattupetty Dam to Kundala.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was speeding and lost control while navigating a curve. The deceased have been identified as Aathika Ramu (19), Venika Ramesh (19), and Suthan Nityanandan (19), all BSc Computer Science students. Two students died at a Munnar hospital, while the third succumbed to injuries en route to a hospital in Theni, Tamil Nadu. Another student is in serious condition.
The injured, including 23 students and teachers, are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Munnar. Local residents, police, and tourists assisted in rescue efforts. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
