Wed Feb 19 16:15:58 UTC 2025: ## Telangana to Convene Special Assembly Session for BC, SC Reservation Bills
**Hyderabad, February 19, 2025** – The Telangana State Legislature will convene a special session from March 1st to 5th to address crucial legislation concerning Backward Classes (BC) reservations and Scheduled Caste (SC) sub-categorization, sources confirmed. This follows Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s pledge to introduce these bills.
The session will see the introduction of a bill based on a one-man Commission of Inquiry report on SC sub-categorization. A similar bill will address BC reservations, aiming to implement a 42% quota in local bodies, education, and employment. The government plans to present the State budget during the last week of March, to be delivered by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
A cabinet meeting will precede the session to finalize and approve the draft bills. Once passed by the legislature, the bills will be sent to the central government for approval.
