Tue Feb 18 23:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Ohio State Buckeyes Edge Out Iowa Hawkeyes in Overtime Thriller
**COLUMBUS, OH** – The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes held off a furious comeback by the Iowa Hawkeyes, winning a thrilling overtime battle 86-78 on Monday night. Freshman guard Jaloni Cambridge led the Buckeyes with 29 points and four assists, while Cotie McMahon added 25 points and eight rebounds. Cambridge’s sister, Kennedy, also contributed a career-high 16 points.
Iowa, whose six-game winning streak ended with the loss, was paced by Lucy Olsen’s 27 points and seven assists. Despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the first half, the Hawkeyes chipped away at the deficit and forced overtime on Olsen’s free throws with seconds remaining in regulation.
Ohio State, who moved up to eighth in the AP poll earlier in the day, struggled to maintain their lead throughout the game. After building a comfortable advantage, they saw Iowa storm back, forcing the extra period. A clutch bank shot by McMahon and a key steal and assist by Kennedy Cambridge in overtime sealed the victory for the Buckeyes. Ohio State’s defense also shined, forcing 20 Iowa turnovers, including 11 steals.
The win keeps Ohio State in third place in the Big Ten. They next face Indiana on Thursday, while Iowa hosts No. 3 UCLA on Sunday.
