**N’Djamena, Chad –** The Chadian army announced the conclusion of a four-month operation against Boko Haram, claiming to have killed nearly 300 militants. The operation, codenamed Haskanite, launched in October 2025 following a deadly Boko Haram attack on a Chadian military base, resulted in the deaths of 24 soldiers and three civilians, according to military spokesperson General Chanane Issakha Acheik.

General Acheik stated at a press briefing that 297 Boko Haram militants were killed during the campaign, which ended on February 20th, 2025. The operation was ordered by President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno in response to the October attack that claimed the lives of 40 Chadian troops.

Chad is one of four countries bordering Lake Chad grappling with the decade-long Boko Haram insurgency, which has claimed over 40,000 lives and displaced two million people across the region. The conflict began in Nigeria and quickly spread to neighboring countries.
