Wed Feb 19 01:08:00 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Filter Coffee Prices to Rise After Coffee Powder Price Surge

**Bengaluru, February 19, 2025** – The price of filter coffee in Bengaluru is set to increase by 10% to 15% starting in March, following a significant rise in coffee powder costs. The Bruhat Bengaluru Hoteliers Association (BBHA) announced the price hike after the cost of Arabica coffee powder jumped from ₹588 per kg in mid-January to ₹725 per kg by early February, with further increases expected.

P.C. Rao, president of the BBHA, stated that the unprecedented increase in coffee powder prices, a rise of ₹210 per kg in just a few weeks, leaves restaurants with no choice but to pass on the added cost to consumers. This means a cup of filter coffee, currently priced between ₹12 and ₹15, will increase to ₹13-₹18. Some establishments have already implemented the price hike, while others will follow suit from March 1st. An anticipated 5% increase in milk prices is also expected to further impact costs.

Regular coffee drinkers expressed concern over the cumulative price increase. Harsha S., a resident of Uttarahalli, noted the steady rise in coffee prices over the past few years, leading him to reduce his consumption. He anticipates needing to cut back further to offset the additional monthly expense. While the increase per cup may seem modest, the long-term impact on consumers’ budgets is significant.
