Wed Feb 19 14:32:34 UTC 2025: ## PCJSS Denies Links to New Tripura Extremist Group
**Agartala, February 19, 2025** – The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), the leading organization representing indigenous people in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts, has vehemently denied any involvement in the alleged formation of a new extremist group in Tripura, India. The denial follows a news report linking PCJSS President Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma to the purported Tripura United Liberation Front (TULF).
Sajib Chakma, PCJSS assistant information and publicity secretary, called the allegations against Mr. Larma “false, incorrect, and politically motivated,” dismissing any connection between the PCJSS leader and a militant group as absurd.
The existence of the TULF itself remains unconfirmed. While one news outlet reported the group establishing a base in the Sajek valley, a security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that Indian security forces have no information about the formation of any new extremist outfit in Tripura or its alleged Bangladeshi base. The official noted that two smaller factions of the National Liberation Front of Tripura surrendered their arms last September after signing a Memorandum of Settlement in New Delhi. Furthermore, the official confirmed that Indian security agencies have no evidence supporting claims of PCJSS links to extremist groups.
