**Mumbai, February 18, 2025** – Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Minister, Aditi Tatkare, announced that Shiv Jayanti will be celebrated in all the state’s anganwadis (integrated child development services centers) on February 19th. The celebrations aim to instill the values and achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in young children.
Activities planned include storytelling about Shivaji Maharaj’s childhood, and children will participate in role-playing, dressing up as the king and his mother, Rajmata Jijabai. The minister emphasized the importance of these celebrations in shaping the children’s understanding and appreciation of the Maratha king’s legacy.
