Tue Feb 18 17:00:00 UTC 2025: ## WTA Upholds Suspension of Elena Rybakina’s Former Coach
**DOHA, Qatar** – The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has confirmed the continued suspension of Stefano Vukov, former coach of Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. The WTA concluded its investigation into a potential code of conduct violation but offered no details regarding the length of Vukov’s ban, citing confidentiality concerns.
Vukov, a Croatian coach, has denied any wrongdoing. Rybakina, currently ranked seventh in the world, previously voiced her support for Vukov, stating he never mistreated her and expressing disappointment with the suspension process. Following her victory at the Qatar Open on Wednesday, she reiterated her unwillingness to comment further on the matter.
The situation surrounding Rybakina’s coaching team has been turbulent. She parted ways with Vukov before the US Open last year, only to announce his return before the Australian Open. However, Vukov’s provisional suspension prevented him from accessing player areas at tournaments. Following Rybakina’s Australian Open exit, her subsequent coach, Goran Ivanisevic, also ended their collaboration. The WTA’s statement emphasized its commitment to protecting the integrity of its investigations.
