**New Delhi, Feb 17, 2025** – External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held bilateral talks today with Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maria Tripodi, focusing on strengthening the India-Italy strategic partnership. The meeting, held in Delhi, covered ongoing efforts to further deepen cooperation between the two nations.
In a separate engagement, Jaishankar met with former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. On X (formerly Twitter), Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for Sunak’s continued support in bolstering India-UK relations. Photographs of the meeting were also shared on the platform.
The meetings come as India celebrates strong ties with both Italy and the UK. India and Italy, which established diplomatic relations in 1947, share a robust people-to-people connection fostered by a significant Indian diaspora and Italy’s long history of Indological studies. 2023 marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
