**New Delhi, [Date of Publication]:** Aprilia has launched its Tuono 457 sports bike in the Indian market, priced at ₹3.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Sharing many mechanical components with its sibling, the Aprilia RS 457, the Tuono 457 boasts a 457cc parallel-twin engine producing 47.6hp and 43.5Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch and an optional bi-directional quickshifter. The bike also shares its frame, suspension, brakes, and electronics suite with the RS 457.

While mechanically similar, the Tuono 457 distinguishes itself visually. It features a new LED headlight with twin DRLs, replacing the signature Aprilia triple-bulb setup found on the RS 457. The fuel tank capacity is slightly smaller at 12.7 liters compared to the RS 457’s 13 liters, but both bikes weigh the same at 175 kg. The Tuono 457 also offers slightly shorter gearing.

Bookings for the Tuono 457 have commenced, with deliveries expected to begin in March. Priced ₹25,000 less than the RS 457, the Tuono 457 will compete with the Yamaha MT-03 (₹3.50 lakh) and the recently discounted KTM 390 Duke (₹2.95 lakh after a ₹18,000 price reduction). While the Yamaha and Aprilia models feature twin-cylinder engines, the KTM 390 Duke utilizes a single-cylinder engine.
