Mon Feb 17 19:21:17 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Police Bust Ganja Ring, Seize Drugs and Ganja Chocolates
**Chennai, February 18, 2025** – Chennai City Police have arrested five individuals in separate raids for allegedly trafficking ganja and ganja-infused chocolates.
In a coordinated effort, Chintadripet police apprehended two men, M. Sarathkumar (22) and N. Seraman (25), near Ritchie Street on Sunday morning. The duo were found in possession of ganja, painkillers, and other substances. Following their confessions, police arrested two more accomplices, D. Mahesh (35) and Mohammed Sadiq (30). The four were allegedly sourcing ganja from Andhra Pradesh and illegally distributing painkillers obtained from a pharmacy run by an individual named Magesh. Police seized 3.5 kg of ganja, 200 nitrazepam tablets, and four mobile phones.
Separately, Periyamedu police arrested Karthik Prasad Malick (20) near the Central Railway Station. Malick, hailing from Odisha, was found with ganja chocolates and ganja, allegedly smuggled from his home state.
The arrests highlight a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in the city. Investigations are ongoing.
