Mon Feb 17 20:25:28 UTC 2025: ## Delta Plane Flips on Landing in Toronto, Injuring 19

**Toronto, Canada –** A Delta Connection flight flipped onto its roof upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, injuring 19 passengers and crew. The incident involved Delta flight 4819, a CRJ-900 regional jet operated by Endeavor Air, arriving from Minneapolis.

Despite the dramatic scene – captured in videos showing the aircraft upside down on the snowy tarmac – all 76 passengers and four crew members were accounted for. Three individuals sustained critical injuries and were transported to area hospitals via Ornge air ambulance. Other passengers received treatment for less serious injuries. Airport operations resumed within a couple of hours of the incident, which occurred around 2:15 p.m. ET.

While the cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, with assistance from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, inclement weather is suspected to have played a role. The airport experienced blowing snow and strong winds at the time of landing.

Aviation safety experts note that such incidents are rare. John Cox, CEO of Safety Operating Systems, highlighted the CRJ-900’s proven safety record and its ability to generally handle challenging weather conditions.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed relief at the lack of fatalities and pledged provincial support to the airport and authorities. This incident marks at least the fourth major aviation mishap in North America in the past month.
