**Chennai, February 17, 2025** – AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has announced the appointment of point men for all 82 district units of the party in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The appointments, announced Monday, include prominent figures such as S. Semmalai (Tiruchi suburban south), M. Thambi Durai and S. Vignesh (Tirupattur), and several others across the state. These individuals are tasked with visiting their assigned districts and submitting reports by the end of March.
The party clarified that district secretaries will not be filling these point-man roles, allowing them to focus on general party coordination. Notably, some prominent figures, including veteran actor Gautami Tadimalla and former MP V. Maitreyan, were not included in the list of appointees.
