Sun Feb 16 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Swede Åberg Sinks Hole-in-One at Torrey Pines, Inches Closer to Caddie Bet
**SAN DIEGO, CA** – Ludvig Åberg continued his hot streak at the Torrey Pines South Course, carding his first hole-in-one of the season during Saturday’s third round of the Genesis Invitational. The impressive shot, a pitching wedge from 140 yards on the par-3 third hole, follows two previous days of spectacular bunker shots.
Åberg, who finished the round with a 2-under 70, placing him two strokes off the 54-hole lead, described the shot as “one of them that I actually hit the shot I wanted to.” The ace is the first on the third hole since Richy Werenski’s in 2021, earning Åberg’s charity, California Rises, a $10,000 donation from Genesis.
This hole-in-one adds to Åberg’s recent run of exceptional short game play, including a birdie from a bunker and an eagle from a long-range putt in the preceding days. The Swede is currently engaged in a bet with his caddie, Joe Skovron, on the number of hole-outs he can achieve by the RBC Heritage in April. With this latest achievement, Åberg has reached five hole-outs, moving closer to exceeding the 6.5 over/under line set for the bet. “It got me one closer,” Åberg said, expressing confidence in his chances of winning.
