**NEW DELHI, February 13, 2025** – BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is poised to launch its fourth model in India, the Sealion 7 electric SUV, on February 17th. Following the successful launches of the eMax 7, Atto 3, and Seal, the Sealion 7, first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 in January, is now arriving at dealerships nationwide.
The Sealion 7 boasts a sleek design available in several colors including Atlantis Grey (with an ocean blue effect), black, white, and a striking shark-like contrast shade. The SUV features an 82.5 kWh battery pack and will be offered in two powertrain options (specifics not detailed).
Inside, the Sealion 7 offers a luxurious experience with a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 12-speaker sound system, and an 8-way powered driver’s seat. Comfort features include a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, and rain-sensing wipers. Safety is prioritized with 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a comprehensive ADAS suite.
With an expected ex-showroom price starting at Rs 45 lakh, the BYD Sealion 7 will directly compete with established EVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Early images of the vehicle in its various colors have already been released, generating considerable buzz amongst Indian consumers.
