Mon Feb 17 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Bill Murray’s Nick the Lounge Singer Returns for SNL 50th Anniversary

**New York, NY** – Bill Murray resurrected his iconic “Nick the Lounge Singer” character for the “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert,” celebrating Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary. The legendary comedian, accompanied by Paul Shaffer on piano, delivered a hilarious monologue, joking about the coincidence of his performance falling on Valentine’s Day.

Murray, introducing himself as Nick Valentine, then launched into a rendition of classic songs before performing his signature, hilariously off-key, take on the “Star Wars” theme, a memorable bit from the show’s third season. He was later joined by SNL alumnae Maya Rudolph, Cecily Strong, and Ana Gasteyer, who provided backing vocals for a performance of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “You’re All I Need to Get By.”

The star-studded 50th-anniversary special, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, featured a diverse lineup of musical artists including Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, and many more. Murray’s surprise appearance and the return of Nick the Lounge Singer were highlights of the celebratory concert.
