Sat Feb 15 23:27:46 UTC 2025: ## RCB’s Shreyanka Patil Out of WPL 2025; Sneh Rana Replaces Injured Spinner
**Mumbai, India** – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have announced that spin-bowling all-rounder Shreyanka Patil will miss the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season due to an undisclosed injury. The defending champions have signed former Gujarat Giants captain Sneh Rana as her replacement for a fee of Rs 30 lakh.
Patil, who was instrumental in RCB’s 2024 title victory, hinted at her absence on social media with a cryptic post. She finished the previous season as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps from eight matches.
Rana, who captained the Gujarat Giants in WPL 2023, was not retained by the team and went unsold at the WPL 2025 auction. She brings a wealth of experience to RCB, having played 12 matches for the Giants, taking six wickets albeit with a high economy rate of 9.02. Despite being dropped from the Indian white-ball team, she recently performed well in the senior women’s one-day Challenger Trophy, taking nine wickets.
RCB are already facing a significant injury crisis, with Sophie Devine unavailable, and Kate Cross, Asha Sobhana, and Sophie Molineux all sidelined due to injury. This adds to the team’s challenges as they aim to defend their title.
