Sun Feb 16 12:20:00 UTC 2025: ## New Wellness Center Opens, Offering Free Integrative Care to Cancer Patients
**Daytona Beach, FL** – AdventHealth Daytona Beach, in partnership with the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, has opened the SherryStrong Integrative Wellness Center, providing complimentary integrative therapies to cancer patients and their families. The center, named in honor of the late Sherry Pollex, a NASCAR advocate who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2023, offers services such as oncology massage, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, nutritional counseling, and support groups.
The $1.8 million facility, funded through a fundraising effort supported by the NASCAR Foundation and private donations, is the second SherryStrong center to open, following a successful clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina. It reflects Pollex’s vision of holistic cancer care that complements traditional medical treatments.
“Cancer treatment is often focused on chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, but true healing goes beyond medicine,” said David Weis, president and CEO of AdventHealth’s East Volusia operations. “This center provides patients with the tools, support, and care they need to feel stronger physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
The center’s grand opening included a memorial honoring Pollex’s legacy and her commitment to integrative wellness. Medical professionals emphasized the potential of these therapies to alleviate side effects, reduce stress, and improve the overall quality of life for cancer patients. The center’s free services are available to all patients regardless of their ability to pay.
