Sun Feb 16 04:50:00 UTC 2025: ## CBSE Board Exams Begin Smoothly Amidst Strict Security

**New Delhi, February 15, 2025** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams for Classes 10 and 12 commenced today across India and 26 international locations. Approximately 42 lakh students from 8,000 schools participated in the exams held at 7,842 centers.

The first day saw Class 10 students taking English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, while Class 12 students sat for the Entrepreneurship exam. Strict security measures were implemented, including thorough checks and a ban on electronic devices.

Initial student feedback suggests the English papers were manageable, with many attributing their confidence to preparation using NCERT books and sample papers. While some students found the word limits restrictive on certain questions, and one student noted an out-of-syllabus question, overall sentiment was positive. Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary urged students to remain stress-free and for parents to offer support, echoing sentiments expressed by former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who wished students well on social media.

To ease travel for students, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) implemented measures to expedite frisking and ticketing at metro stations. The CBSE has also issued guidelines regarding dress codes, permitted items, and penalties for unfair means.
