Sun Feb 16 04:50:00 UTC 2025: ## CBSE Board Exams Begin: Mixed Reactions from Students
**New Delhi, India** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and XII board examinations commenced on Saturday across 7,842 centers in India and 26 international locations. While some students expressed relief after completing their English papers, others voiced concerns about the exam’s length and word limits.
Class X students sat for both English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Many students reported that the exam was lengthy, despite adequate preparation using sample papers and NCERT textbooks. One student from DPS Vasant Kunj, Raghav Goyal, commented that while he was initially nervous, the exam “went well, though it was quite lengthy.”
Another student from Sarvodaya Senior Secondary School expressed uncertainty about whether they met the required word limits for certain questions, despite feeling their answers were sufficient. This student also noted one question appeared to be outside the syllabus, although the availability of optional questions mitigated this issue.
However, other students found the exam manageable. Yuti and Rakshita, students from different schools, reported that prior practice with old sample papers made the exam easier, despite some changes in the analytical and writing sections. Rakshita, a first-time board exam taker, also praised the friendly demeanor of the invigilators.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi extended her best wishes to all students via social media, encouraging them to approach the exams with confidence and a positive mindset. The exams continue throughout the coming weeks.
