Sun Feb 16 04:52:56 UTC 2025: ## CBSE Class 10 English Exam: Students Find Paper Mostly Easy, but Some Concerns Raised

**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 English exam concluded today across 7,842 centers in India and 26 locations abroad. Approximately 42 lakh students appeared for the three-hour, 80-mark exam, which saw students tackle both English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers.

Overall, student and teacher feedback suggests the paper was of moderate difficulty. Many students reported that the exam was largely in line with the sample paper and syllabus, with the grammar section deemed particularly straightforward. Prarthana Bajpai, TGT English at Vidyagyan School, Sitapur, noted that while the reading and writing sections posed a few slightly tricky questions, and some value-based questions in the literature section presented a challenge, the paper was generally “easy”.

Tasmina Alam, PGT English at KIIT World School, Gurugram, offered a more nuanced perspective. While she considered the grammar section and writing skills components simple, she highlighted that some questions in Set 3 of the grammar section were more difficult and that the literature section, while easy, required a thorough understanding of themes, characters, and literary techniques. She also noted that the passages in Section A, while not tricky, prompted value-based questions demanding focused attention.

However, not all students shared entirely positive views. Some reported concerns about word limits being too restrictive, with answers needing to be longer than the allotted space. One student from Patna even mentioned an optional question that appeared to be outside the syllabus.

Despite these minor concerns, the majority of students felt confident in completing the paper within the allocated time and even having time for revision. The CBSE Class 12 Entrepreneurship exam was also held concurrently.
