Sat Feb 15 18:54:36 UTC 2025: ## Migrant Couple Arrested in Kerala for Baby Kidnapping
**KOCHI, Kerala –** Aluva police arrested a migrant couple, Rinki (20), a transperson, and Rashidul Haq (29), both from Assam, late Friday night for the alleged abduction of a one-month-old baby boy. The baby belonged to a migrant woman from Bihar.
Police launched a swift investigation after receiving a complaint from the mother, who reported the abduction around 8 p.m. Friday and a ransom demand of ₹70,000. She identified Rinki from photographs at the police station. Although Rinki initially fled, a search involving the examination of CCTV footage and various locations, including railway stations, bus stands, and the Kochi airport area, led to the couple’s apprehension. Police believe the couple intended to take the baby to Assam.
The accused were produced in court and remanded. The investigation was supervised by Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Vaibhav Saxena.
