Ahmedabad, India – England spinner Adil Rashid has joined an elite group of bowlers who have dismissed Indian batting star Virat Kohli 11 times in international cricket. Rashid achieved this milestone during the third ODI match between India and England in Ahmedabad. This dismissal marks Rashid’s 11th time dismissing Kohli across all formats (5 ODIs, 4 Tests, and 2 T20Is).
Rashid now shares the record of dismissing Kohli 11 times with New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood. Southee and Hazlewood have both achieved this feat in fewer matches than Rashid (34 matches). Other bowlers who have come close include Moeen Ali and James Anderson, both with 10 dismissals each.
Despite his dismissal, Kohli contributed a significant 52 runs off 55 balls, including seven fours and a six, showing a return to form. The match saw Shubman Gill also create history, achieving the fastest 2500 runs in ODIs.
