**Mumbai, India** – A major controversy surrounding YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and his appearance on the reality show “India’s Got Talent” has led to police action. Allahbadia and several others, including Samay Raina, are facing accusations of making obscene comments about the parents of a contestant.
The Khar police station in Mumbai has issued a second summons to Allahbadia, demanding his presence for questioning. He failed to appear for an earlier summons. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against over 30 individuals involved in the show, including Allahbadia, Raina, and Balraj Ghai. Summons have been issued to all those involved in episodes 1 through 6.
Apuurva Makhija, also implicated in the controversy, has already recorded her statement with police. Raina, currently out of the country, has requested an extension through his lawyer, providing travel documents and his show schedule. Ashish Chanchlani has also given his statement to the Mumbai Police.
The controversy has impacted other participants. Ashish Chanchlani, for example, had to cancel his hosting duties for a Marvel movie screening due to the ongoing investigation. Raghu Ram, a judge on the show, has also appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Police. Even A.R. Rahman, subtly referencing the controversy during a recent event, alluded to the repercussions of unchecked speech. Comedian Munawar Faruqui also reacted to the situation, stating that art, like a spring, rises higher the more it’s suppressed.
