**Jaipur, Rajasthan –** Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has admitted to making a mistake after alleging government surveillance and phone tapping, prompting a political firestorm. Meena, who submitted a response to a show-cause notice issued by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), declined to reveal its contents, stating the matter was an internal party issue. The BJP’s notice, issued on February 10th, deemed Meena’s allegations “patently false” and damaging to the government’s image.

Meena’s allegations, made at a public event, caused an uproar in the State Assembly last week. His resignation from the Cabinet, tendered in June 2024, remains unaccepted. The BJP’s disciplinary action against him has been criticized by the opposition Congress party.
