**DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 11, 2024)** – The final two spots in the 67th Daytona 500 field will be decided Thursday evening in a pair of qualifying races. Thirty-eight cars have already secured their positions, leaving nine teams battling for the remaining four slots.

Two qualifying races, each 60 laps, will determine the final two entrants. The fastest two non-chartered cars will be locked in after Wednesday’s qualifying session. A new NASCAR rule guarantees Indy 500 champion Helio Castroneves a starting spot, even if he doesn’t qualify within the top 40; he will start as the 41st car, ineligible for prize money.

Notable drivers competing for a spot include Martin Truex Jr., Jimmie Johnson, and Justin Allgaier. The races will be broadcast on FS1, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The green flag for Race #1 is scheduled for 7:21 p.m. ET, followed by Race #2 at approximately 8:24 p.m. ET. The forecast predicts pleasant weather with a low chance of rain.
