VIRUDHUNAGAR, Tamil Nadu – Three people died early Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle collision on the Sattur-Virudhunagar highway near Agragarapatti. The accident occurred when a cement truck suddenly stopped after a tire blowout, causing a motorbike and a fruit-laden cargo vehicle to collide with it.

The deceased were identified as M. Selvam (33), D. Vinod (38), and S. Velmurugan (40). Selvam, operating the motorbike, and his pillion passenger, Vinod, were killed instantly when the cargo vehicle struck them. Velmurugan, the cleaner of the cargo vehicle, also perished. The cargo vehicle driver, V. Ramesh, sustained injuries and was transported to the Virudhunagar Government Medical College Hospital.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
