Wed Feb 12 07:30:55 UTC 2025: ## YouTuber BeerBiceps Faces Nationwide Backlash After Controversial Remarks

**Mumbai, India –** Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, is facing intense legal and public scrutiny following his appearance on the comedy show “India’s Got Latent.” His question to a contestant – “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?” – sparked widespread outrage and condemnation.

Following the controversy, Allahbadia issued a public apology, stating that comedy is not his forte and acknowledging a “lapse in judgment.” However, this apology has done little to quell the storm.

Multiple FIRs have been filed against Allahbadia across India, including in Mumbai and Assam. Mumbai Police visited his residence, and a parliamentary panel is considering summoning him. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has filed a case against the show itself, booking 30-40 individuals involved in its production and various episodes. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned Allahbadia and other participants in the show for a hearing on February 17th.

The controversy has extended beyond Allahbadia. Other participants in the show, including comedian Samay Raina and influencers Apoorva Makhija and Ashish Chanchlani, are also facing legal action and public criticism. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has demanded a ban on “India’s Got Latent.”

The incident has led to a significant drop in Allahbadia’s social media following, with losses reported across Instagram and YouTube. Numerous celebrities have voiced their disapproval, including actors Manoj Bajpayee, Raza Murad, and Mukesh Khanna. While some, like Uorfi Javed, have defended him against what they perceive as excessive punishment, the overwhelming response has been one of condemnation. The incident has also prompted calls for stricter regulations on online content and social media platforms. A Shiv Sena MP has even called for new legislation to address the issue. The show itself has also been blocked on YouTube following government orders. The incident highlights the growing debate surrounding online content moderation and the responsibility of influencers.
