**Madurai, February 13, 2025** – The Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai is gearing up for a spectacular Mahasivaratri celebration on February 26th. According to a press statement released by Temple Joint Commissioner S. Krishnan, elaborate arrangements are in place for the all-night festival.
The festivities will include special abishekam (sacred bath) and aradana (worship) ceremonies for the presiding deities, Sri Meenakshi Amman and Sri Sundareswarar, throughout the night of February 26th into the early hours of February 27th. Specific puja timings have been scheduled, with ceremonies planned at 10 pm, 11 pm, midnight, 1 am, 3 am, 4 am, and 5 am. Additional pujas, including Artha Jamam, Palliyarai, and Tiruvanandal, will also be performed at 3 am, 4 am, and 5 am respectively.
The temple administration is appealing to the public and devotees for contributions of milk, curd, tender coconut, paneer, fruits, honey, oil, ghee, and turmeric powder for the abhishekam ceremonies.
