**Mumbai, India –** A new First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against prominent social media influencers, including podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, YouTuber Apoorva Makhija, and comedian Samay Raina, following a controversial roast show. The complaint, filed by Sanmati Pandey in Mumbai, alleges that the individuals degraded the Indian family system and hurt religious sentiments through their remarks.

The FIR cites a specific comment by Allahbadia questioning whether viewers would prefer to watch their parents have sex daily or join them once, a statement deemed offensive to religious beliefs. Makhija’s comments regarding food habits in Arunachal Pradesh, which the complaint claims endangered peace in the region, are also cited. Raina’s involvement as a jury member and social media promoter of the show is also mentioned. YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani is also named in the FIR.

This latest development follows a viral video clip from the show, sparking widespread outrage and multiple investigations. Assam Police have also filed a case, sending a team to Mumbai to aid the probe. The Mumbai Police’s Khar police station has recorded a statement from Apoorva Makhija. The Maharashtra cyber cell has also initiated a case under the IT Act, issuing notices to at least 30 individuals associated with the show.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Allahbadia and others involved for a hearing on February 17th, expressing concern over the comments’ violation of individual dignity. The matter has reached Parliament, with Shiv Sena MPs raising concerns and demanding censorship on OTT platforms.

Allahbadia has issued a public apology, stating his comment was inappropriate and that he regrets his lapse in judgment. Despite the apology, he has reportedly lost around 50,000 followers. The incident has sparked a wider debate on freedom of speech, with some criticizing the selective outrage while others condemning the vulgarity.
