Wed Feb 12 16:49:19 UTC 2025: ## India Sweeps England in ODI Series with Dominant Victory

**Ahmedabad, India** – India completed a 3-0 series sweep over England with a resounding 142-run victory in the third and final One Day International (ODI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Shubman Gill’s magnificent century (112 off 102 balls) spearheaded India’s imposing total of 356/7. England, in reply, were bowled out for a paltry 214.

Gill’s century, his seventh in ODIs and achieved in his 50th match, was the highlight of India’s innings. He received valuable support from Virat Kohli (52) and Shreyas Iyer (78). KL Rahul also contributed a quickfire 40. For England, Adil Rashid was the most successful bowler, taking 4 wickets for 64 runs.

India’s pace attack proved equally devastating. Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya were the chief wicket-takers, dismantling England’s batting line-up. The English innings was marked by a lack of significant partnerships, with only Tom Banton (35) offering any resistance.

The victory marks a strong end to India’s ODI series ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. The team made three changes to their playing XI, bringing in Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Washington Sundar. England made one change, with Tom Banton replacing Jamie Smith. This match also saw several players nearing significant milestones, including Rohit Sharma approaching 11,000 ODI runs and Virat Kohli nearing 14,000.
