Wed Feb 12 04:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Cold Snap Expected Across South Korea on Thursday

**Seoul, South Korea (Yonhap) –** South Korea is expected to experience a cold snap on Thursday, February 13th, with strong winds and significantly lower-than-average temperatures.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasts mostly clear skies nationwide. Morning lows will range from -11 to -1 degree Celsius, while afternoon highs will reach only 3 to 9 degrees Celsius, slightly below the seasonal average. Inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon Province, daytime temperatures may remain around 0 degrees Celsius.

Strong winds, with speeds reaching up to 15 meters per second across most of the country (and up to 20 m/s in mountainous areas), will make the cold feel even more intense. The KMA advises residents to take precautions against the severe cold.

Air quality is expected to be excellent nationwide due to the influx of clean air from the northwest. Ocean waves will be relatively moderate.
